Goodbye K/1, Hello Summer!

On Monday, we went on an amazing hike in the Nature Park with Mrs. Strachan-Garrells and Mr. Honeyman's classes. We had so much fun exploring, playing, and hiking!

Our LAST Calendar of the school year, filled with fun moments!

On Wednesday, we enjoyed a class picnic under our favourite tree!

We also had our final Mindful Moment outside, which was so peaceful and as magical as always.

We followed our Mindful Moment with an ice cream party with lots of toppings. The calm didn't last for long!

We spent the last day of school at Fairmont Hot Springs, where we swam with our friends and played games in the sun. I absolutely love going to Fairmont on the last day- it's amazing to connect with parents and past students, as well as have a LOT of fun wrapping up another amazing year with incredible children! I also love catching the few who are SO tuckered out at the end of the day that they fall asleep on the bus!

Thank you SO much to all of the volunteers who made this day so successful!

We have had an incredible school year. These students have grown so much, and made lifelong connections with other children. Acknowledging that some of our students will be moving schools next year, I feel grateful that this group of students were able to share so many happy memories this year. Students moving to Lindsay Park and beyond will be greatly missed, but I trust that we will reconnect in various ways throughout each school year. I am thrilled to have shared in the learning these students have experienced this year, and feel so fortunate to have the memories of laughter, discovery and wonder to carry forward with me.

Have a wonderful summer everyone, and best of luck in Grade One and Two!

Last full week of June!

We had another week filled with magical moments, amazing discoveries, and LOTS of laughs! Ask your child about our art projects below.

A HUGE thank you again to Trevor for proposing this amazing photo transfer project, bringing in all of the beautiful wood, and organizing 20 kids! Everyone LOVED this project, and it was certainly the talk of the school. The kids especially loved the 'reveal', when we removed the paper to find out who was on each block!

We also had our last Mystery Reader of the year. It was so much fun to guess someone who knew a number of kids in the class. Thank you, Laura, for making the time to come into our classroom and read us such a special story.

We also had our final music class with Miss Lizzy. She brought in beautiful ribbons and a fun parachute that we danced with. She also brought a huge selection of interesting instruments for us to sample and create music with. We have absolutely loved our music classes this year, and will truly miss our special music teacher!

Friday afternoon brought us FUN DAY! We moved through a variety of stations with our buddies from Ms. Kinsey's class. We had such a blast dancing and eating popsicles, building our teachers out of natural materials, and playing a variety of water games! It was SUCH an amazing way to celebrate our last full week of school. An extra special THANK YOU goes out to Jodie and Laura for volunteering to run our dance station, and to Jocelyn for taking pictures. Ask your child about their favourite stations!

It has been an absolute treat to watch this group grow and learn together. I am extremely proud of all of their accomplishments this year, and feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to be a part of their learning journey.
